Raking your brains as to what to put on and step out of the house this monsoon? Though you do need to compromise a little with your attire, but rainy season can never dampen the spirits of fashion enthusiasts of donning aweome outfits and footwear. Here's a little help for you :
FABRIC - Choose outfits made of drip dry, thick fabrics which do not crush like silk, cotton blends, nylon. Cotton knits are also apt for the season.
AVOID sticky synthetics like lycra; say goodbye to your denims.
COLOURS - Bright, bright, and really bright! You need to beat the dark clouds, the dull sky and the gloomy atmosphere. So just brighten up everything around you, cheer up the dullest of days. Avoid white completely and light coloured bottoms. Also, checks are NOT in anymore; instead, try some floral prints and stripes.
LENGTHS - No full lengths, not at all! Choose elbow length sleeves, they look good even in a formal setting. And you can replace your full length denim bottoms with skirts or capris. Capris look really cute, and are the most sensible option in the rains, team it up with a long tee and a wide belt. Choose dresses and skirts which streamline your body; A-line fits and knee-length staright fits would serve the purpose well.
FOOTWEAR - One word - Gumboots! They're cute, comfortable, and keep your feet clean. What else do you want? But still in case, you dont like them, another option is the ever-popular ballet flats. Don't even look at your flip flops in case unless you want your legs to be beautified with mud stains.
RAINGEAR - A cute, large, transparent umbrella with large prints is a must have. Do prefer a foldable one with a carry bag which does not make carrying it around a pain.
Same with raincoats and trench coats - transparent, and the ones wth a carry bag.
Happy Monsoon :)
